In 2004, Meridale was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This was in recognition of the service provided to the local community and the dedication of the volunteer staff here at the centre.
Centre Manager, John Monk, along with Maureen Monk who organises Kidz Klub, and then Chairman of the Organisation, Fred Young, were invited to attend an official reception at St James’ Palace.
This was followed by a presentation at Meridale by the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Mrs Bridget Craycroft-Eley.
